Working with the XAG/NZD series
Silver against a small commodity currency, with daily data from 2003. Neither leg is large, and the cross's liquidity reflects it — this is a computed price more than a traded market, so spreads are wide and structurally so. Fine for NZD-based accounting of metal exposure; for anything execution-sensitive, trade the liquid legs separately.
