About MarketData Hub

MarketData Hub is an independent project that builds one thing: a desktop client that downloads high-quality historical market data onto your own machine, directly from the source, without a middle-man server.

What it is

MarketData Hub is a desktop application for Windows, macOS, Linux that downloads historical price data — from raw tick quotes to monthly OHLC candles — for 265+ instruments across forex, cryptocurrencies, stock indices, commodities, bonds, ETFs and individual shares. You pick the instrument, range, timeframe and format; the app connects from your machine to the public quote archive, decodes and aggregates locally, and writes the files to your disk.

We sell software, not data

This is the part worth being unambiguous about. We do not sell, host, cache, relay or redistribute market data, and none of it passes through our servers. What you buy is the application: €5.60 once for the entry licence, in one of three tiers. Every licence unlocks the full catalogue and the full available history — higher tiers add export formats, bulk queueing and a headless CLI with a scheduler, never more data. Your use of whatever you retrieve is governed by the source's own terms.

How it relates to dukascopy-node

The retrieval engine builds on dukascopy-node, the popular open-source library for fetching historical data from Dukascopy Bank SA. MarketData Hub wraps that pipeline in a real application — instrument search, date and timeframe pickers, a resumable download queue, polite rate-limit handling and multi-format writers — so you don't need to script anything to get clean data, and nothing about your queries leaves your computer.

Why it exists

Clean, long-range historical data is the foundation of any serious backtest, model or study, yet getting it usually means either scripting or handing a third party a running log of exactly which instruments you're interested in. A local client removes both problems at once.

How the data is produced
